Keeping our Police Accessible the Community

The recruitment of more members enables resources to be distributed in growth areas of Melbourne. To support this important objective, we must ensure that new stations are built where they are needed and that existing stations that lack capacity to accommodate new members, or are no longer fit-for-purpose, are either renovated or rebuilt.

In light of the above, TPAV recommends consideration be given to the following;

  • The creation of new police stations at William’s Landing/Point Cook and Clyde North. These stations will service areas where booming growth has outstripped the ability of local resources to keep up.
  • Rebuilding of stations at Benalla, Epping, Melbourne East, Avondale Heights, Clayton, Prahran, Hamilton, Whittlesea and Doncaster, all of which are no longer fit-for-purpose.
