Secretary Wayne Gatt

The Police Association has announced that Sergeant Wayne Gatt will become its next Secretary.

Wayne, 42, is a serving Victoria Police officer of 21 years and currently the Police Association’s Stakeholder Relations Advisor, will replace outgoing secretary Ron Iddles when he steps down from the role on February 24.

Wayne’s appointment was determined by The Police Association’s 12-person Executive Committee after a rigorous selection process.

Wayne is proud and humbled to be representing his fellow officers:

“It will be a privilege to lead the Association’s professional and committed team who represent Police and PSOs in Victoria and I am honoured to serve in this role.

“This job is all about our committed Victoria Police members.  Nothing will be more important for me than ensuring that our members are supported and listened to.

“Police and PSOs make tough calls in the most difficult environments to keep our community safe. They have the back of our community so it’s important for all of us that we have theirs.”
